Here, There and Over There: Aquí, Ahí and Allí


In broad terms, in English we might think of things as being in one of two places, here or there. But in Spanish, the adverbs of location are a bit more complex, as you can think of three locations, as explained in our lesson on aquí, allí and ahí.

Other lessons on dealing with location in Spanish include ones on demonstrative adjectives, demonstrative pronouns, the use of donde, points of the compass and using ser for event locations.
